| On March 25th, Changtian Energy Environment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MCC, officially started the low-temperature ORC power generation project of Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.'s (hereinafter referred to as "Zhanjiang Iron and Steel") ironmaking plant, which is the first sintering ring cooler cascade low-temperature ORC power generation project in China. This marks a solid step towards deepening strategic cooperation and promoting ultimate energy efficiency between the two parties.
The project focuses on the low-temperature waste heat resources that have not been effectively utilized in the sintering process. It adopts low-temperature organic Rankine cycle (ORC) power generation technology, which recovers the waste heat from the flue gas of the circular cooler through a flue gas hot water heat exchanger to heat the circulating hot water, and then drives organic working fluid power generation, truly realizing the transformation of low-grade waste heat into treasure. After the completion of the project, it is expected that the annual power generation will reach more than 47 million kWh, saving about 13400 tons of standard coal per year, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 33400 tons. This will not only alleviate the electricity pressure on enterprises, but also inject new momentum into their green and low-carbon development.
For more than 10 years, Changtian Energy Environment has been deeply cooperating and co building with Zhanjiang Iron and Steel to create a garden style steel plant with green technology. They have successively cooperated in the construction of nearly 20 key projects, including sintering flue gas purification, utilization of surplus heat and energy, industrial wastewater treatment, and solid waste resource utilization. They have made important contributions to Zhanjiang Iron and Steel's promotion of green and low-carbon transformation, energy efficiency improvement, and continuous protection of the "Zhanjiang Blue". |
